The journey of the Department of Food and Nutrition was started in the academic year 2015, B.Sc Honours Course Under Gour Banga University. The Department of Food and Nutrition has shown remarkable growth in the short span of seven years with uniformly good academic performance. The Department has a well- equipped lab with modern facilities. This Department, with its dedicated and dynamic faculties, carries on the challenging task of training its students to fulfill the requirements of academics, research, and learning skills to support job oriented prospects in the competitive environment.
Objectives of the department :
Food & Nutrition is a multidisciplinary subject. This course aims to educate our students on nutrition through high-quality, easy-to-understand materials. There are many different options for careers after completing the course. Through research, outreach, and experiential learning, students have many opportunities to prepare themselves for life after graduation This situation has got a extensive spectrum of scopes and opportunities as it’s miles related with optimizing excellent of lives of humans.

Students can also enhance their boom opportunities through becoming registered dieticians in India with the aid of clearing the RD exam carried out by the Indian Dietetic affiliation.
