HOME SCIENCE

History :

The journey of Department of Home Science was started in the academic year 2011 , B.Sc (General) Course Under Gour Banga University. Home Science is an applied subject and it is an interdisciplinary field of studies comprising of Food & Nutrition, Clothing & Textile, Resource Management, Human Development and Extension Education and Communication. The department has a well equipped lab with modern facilities are available.

Objectives of the department :

To make the lessons of all subjects as interesting and close to real life situation as possible and to make the materials as activity based as possible. The education imparted to the students of the Home Science department has a direct relevance to their family and social life There are many different options for careers after completing the course.
