ZOOLOGY

Our vision is based on hard work, open communication, a strong emphasis on team work and a high level of responsibility. Department of zoology has been considered as one of the enriched department of the college. Three years Honours Degree course,Two year General Degree course to Botany and Food & Nutrition Honours students were offered. Department   was opened on 2009 but the Honours subject was introduced on 2011. 23 students can apply for the zoology Honours subject (12 Gen, 5 SC, 1 ST, 2 OBC A, 2 OBC 2, PH 1). Poster presentation competition was organized by Department of Zoology. Students of different colleges and University participated in this competition. Quiz competition was also organized. Department of Botany, Food and Nutrition participated in this quiz. Wall magazine of Dept.of Zoology was also created by students. Teacher’s Day programme was also organized by students. Habit and habitat study of non-chordate and chordate was done at Digha,district of West Bengal. We also visited the Raiganj Wildlife Sanctuary for the study of different birds. Major Milestone since inception of the Department

Students have got first class and they get a chance to admit in different universities like University of Gourbanga,Raiganj University. Department of Zoology was awarded for Science project competition in district level. Many seminar, webinar were organized by the department.

Future plan

• To provide  advcance  study materials.
• Guide the students in their Research project.
• To  organize exhibition for better awarness of the subject.
• Emphasis on the research work  leading to new  discovery.
• Separate room for  zoological museum for better understanding of the subject.
